In his 15+ year career as a strength coach and personal trainer Andy has provided coaching services and program design to hundreds of athletes, lifters, and average guys looking to grow muscle and build strength.

Andy is the co-author of Practical Programming for Strength Training with industry icon Mark Rippetoe, as well as the co-author of The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40. In addition to his books Andy has written hundreds of widely distributed articles, and has been a featured speaker at many prominent industry events.

Andy has competed in drug-free raw power lifting for over a decade and in 2010 won his weight class in the N.A.S.A. Grand Nationals with a 535 Squat, 380 Bench, and 565 Deadlift at a bodyweight of 192 lbs.

Andy is a former U.S. Marine and was proud to serve multiple combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom between 2003-2007. While serving on active duty Andy received his undergraduate degree in Health & Sport Science from the American Military University.
