Thurs 6/25 – Fri 6/26: Speed & More Speed

Thurs 6/25

  • Speed Bench:  
  • 4 x 3 x 175,  3 x 3 x 155 (medium grip),  3 x 3 x 135 (close grip);  all sets with Doubled Mini-Bands
  • Regular Paused Bench Press 4 x 4 x 315.  All reps with 2 sec pause
  • Seated DB Press 5 x 8-12
  • Cable Pressdowns 3 x 15
  • 20 mins Airdyne

Friday 6/26

  • Speed Squat 12 x 2 x 285 (60% of the 475 single I hit Tuesday)
  • Paused Parallel Goodmornings
  • 3 x 135, 3 x 185, 3 x 225, 3 x 255, 3 x 285, 5 x 225 (w/ 4inch cambered bar)
  • Sled Drags – 3 plates x 10 trips

Trying to squeeze these last few pounds off to get to 205.  Calories are lower, carbs are non-existent.  Just don’t have much strength on anything.  No other way for me to do squat volume right now except with speed work.  Looking forward to a weekend off to gear up for one more week of training before the big deload.  It ain’t gonna be pretty but almost at the finish line.
