Make the time to go see Andy. I drove about an hour to see him and it was well worth it. I learned more having him watch me do the 4 major lifts in 1.5 hours than I could’ve learned in 6 months. Even with posting videos on the board, you can get 10 different tips from 10 different people and you’re not sure what you should focus on first. On my first set Andy broke it down with the most important stuff first and gave good cues. By the last set, he had me already trained on the first stuff and was already fine tuning. I also learned more proprioceptive cues that I would’ve never figured out on my own. It’s the old saying “you don’t know what you don’t know”. So I’m integrating what I learned and am going to follow up in about a month to fine tune even more.

And to top it off, he’s very perceptive. I’ve got some physical limitations that could easily be mistaken as being a wimp. Right off the bat, Andy saw that they were real and fine tuned my form to suit my limitations so they were no longer limiting me and more importantly, I was no longer compensating by using improper form. He’s not dogmatic; he’s very pragmatic. To top it off, he’s a just a plain nice guy.
