Mon 5/4: Power-Rack Bench Press Training

Dead Stop Rack Bench Press (pin #23;  bar touching chest)

  • Warm Up Sets:  10 x 135,  3 x 185,  3 x 225, 1 x 275, 1 x 295, 1 x 315
  • Work Sets:  1 x 335, 1 x 345, 1 x 355, 1 x 350, 1 x 345, 1 x 340, 1 x 335 x 4 sets (10 total singles between 95-100%1RM)
  • Back off Sets:  2 x 315 (~90%)  4 x 295 (~85%)  6 x 275 (~80%)  all paused and reps de-loaded completely

Incline DB Press    5 x 6 x 100s – 80s (descending sets)

Dips – 20 reps

A lot of high intensity volume today.  Was pretty happy with 355 for a single on these today.  This is not a PR, but pretty good based on low calories / low carbs.  This is probably the most volume I’ve ever done on Dead Stop Rack Benches, but I felt it was all productive work.
